GADSDEN COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - A man was pushing a shopping cart across a road in Gadsden County when he was hit by two cars, according to troopers.
Florida Highway Patrol said that Richard Akery, 62, was walking east across Pat Thomas Parkway around 9 p.m. when a car traveling southbound hit him.
Troopers said that Akery was later hit by another car while laying in the northbound lane. They said that details about the two drivers are unknown at this time as both fled the scene.
The northbound lane of Pat Thomas Parkway was closed following the crash but it has reopened.
