TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- The passenger in the truck that hit an 18-year-old girl on Saturday helped lead police to the suspect, court documents show.

Police charged 20-year-old Devon Mark Dwyer in connection with the accident that sent Jacqueline Faircloth to the intensive care unit with major injuries.

According to the incident report, several friends and family members witnessed this tragic accident.

Police said that Monday afternoon, the investigating officer received a call from an attorney claiming to represent Jacob Salow, a passenger in the vehicle that hit Faircloth.

The family of the victim offered a reward to anyone who could help find the suspect in this case. According to the incident report, Salow's attorney told police that his client was not coming forward for the reward money and that the money should all go towards the victim's medical expenses.

In a sworn statement, police said that Salow told them Dwyer was on his phone texting when he hit Faircloth, who was crossing the street on West Pensacola.

Salow also told police that after the accident, Dwyer went to a friends house and attempted to hide his vehicle.

Police found the Dwyer's red Ford pick-up at a home on 225 Cactus Street being partially concealed by trees.

Dwyer was arrested and booked into the Leon County Jail.
