TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The man on trial in the Florida school massacre is being listed on court-records as "indigent."
The designation means Nikolas Cruz does not have enough money to afford a defense lawyer in a criminal case.
A Broward County Court Clerk made the designation on a form listing Cruz's assets.
The form says Cruz has more than $2,200 in stocks and bonds and $25,000 in other income.
Cruz is accused of murdering 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school on February 14th.
The court has been trying to determine if taxpayers will pick up the tab for his defense.
The judge is expected to make a final determination on Cruz's indigent status before next Friday.
