OKALOOSA ISLAND, Fla. -- A Panhandle man is sending a message to beachgoers by turning trash left on area beaches into art.

The Northwest Florida Daily News reports that Jeff Rial recently started collecting trash during his regular beach walks. He collected cans, broken glass bottles, bits of inflatable rafts and other junk that is often left on the beach. Rial used the trash to create sculptures with anti-littering messages.

Rial says he is combining his love of the beach with his passion for art and he hopes people who notice his work will think twice before leaving garbage on the area's famous white-sand beaches.
