Palmetto man wins $1 million from Florida Lottery

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Lottery announced that David Lacey, 41, of Palmetto, claimed a $1 million grand prize at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee from the Holiday Millionaire Raffle drawing held on Thursday, December 31, 2015.

Lacey purchased his winning ticket from Curlew Food Store, located at 2320 Curlew Road in Palm Harbor. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the $1 million-winning ticket.

Along with the seven $1 million prizes, 540 other prizes ranging from $500 to $50,000 were awarded in the Holiday Millionaire Raffle New Year’s Eve drawing held on December 31. Additionally, this year’s Raffle offered five weekly drawings, in which a $10,000 prize and two hundred $500 prizes were won.

In total, 1,552 players won more than $8.6 million in prizes in the Holiday Millionaire Raffle, which generated more than $1.9 million in revenue for education.

Two of the seven $1 million prizes remain unclaimed.
