TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Monday marked the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but Thursday you'll start to see even more pink around Tallahassee for even more support of those affected.
Paint the Town Pink began Thursday and you'll likely see signs all over Tallahassee.
Many involved with Paint the Town Pink are doing things such as selling bracelets and hosting charity events.
The initiative has grown over the years, and many directly affected by breast cancer have taken notice.
"I've seen a huge commitment on the part of our community in the past, since 2006 when I was diagnosed, to really get out there and raise awareness and give back to our community," said Kathy Brooks, Service Administrator Oncology at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. "That's really so important. That's what all of these businesses and organizations do, just doing a little bit in order to give back to patients in our communities."
Many businesses and agencies involved are honoring specific men and women affected by the disease.
You can contact TMH if you would like to be apart of the effort.
