Tallahassee, Fl (WTXL) -- On the first day of October, 32 new laws go into effect in the state of Florida.
Two of the biggest laws going into action are the Parasailing Regulation Act and the Protection for Unborn Babies During an Attack.
The "White-Miskell" Act says parasail operators must carry a minimum amount of insurance. It also prohibits parasailing as bad weather approaches.
The parasailing act was pushed forward after two teens were injured in Panama City last year while parasailing in strong windy conditions.
The Florida Unborn Victims of Violence Act makes it a separate crime to harm or cause the death of an unborn child during an attack on a pregnant woman. The measure finally passed after being filed every year for almost a decade.
