ORLANDO, Fla. - An Orlando police officer who hit a 90-year-old bicyclist after she ran a stop sign has received an oral reprimand after an internal affairs investigation.

News outlets in Orlando are reporting that Lt. Barbara Jones was driving an SUV on the morning of July 6 when the collision happened. A witness reported Jones ran the stop sign and struck the bicyclist, Donald Gauthier, who was crossing an intersection.

Jones was on duty at the time, and says she didn't recall stopping. She did not receive a citation.

Gauthier wasn't seriously injured. He sustained cuts and bruises, and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The vehicle sustained minor damage.
