TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - There may be more opportunities coming to Leon County for those seeking employment.
At the Leon County Commissioner's meeting on Tuesday, the board unanimously approved a memorandum of understating to expand CareerSource Capital Region Services at seven branches of the Leroy Collins Leon County public library system.
Cristina Paredes, with Leon County Administration says the expansion will make the job seeking process easier for residents, "this is a great opportunity to really allow people who are visiting the library to come in and sit at a desk and see career source right there. And maybe find a job or find a way to find a better job and move up in their career."
Leon County Commissioner Kristin Dozier says residents should see the changes at the library soon, "our IT folks are already working on how to make sure the computers have access to the services......so I think people will be able to see this very soon. We don't have a date set yet, but keep an eye out."
CareerSource says if the expansion is successful, they plan to bring the model to Gadsden and Wakulla County libraries as well.
The expansion is a direct result of a partnership through Leon Works with CareerSource capitol region and Leon County. Officials say it stemmed from discussion on how to better reach out to residents.
