TALLAHASSEE FL (WTXL) -- Technology is an integral part of our everyday lives. In recent years has started showing up more in the classroom, and in cases, even becoming the class.
Online classes are becoming more and more popular, and not just for adults looking to further their education at their own pace. In fact, most colleges are offering online courses to all their students, whether their learning at a distance or just living down the road from school.
For a number of students, taking both traditional and online classes seem to fit their schedule the best. One FAMU student likes the fact that she can learn from her online class any day of the week wherever she may be.
"It makes it easier in a way because I don't have to be on campus to be in class and I like that," says Heather Dorlean, a Florida A&M University student. "What if I'm on the go or I'm sick? I can just do it from home. I really like that. Or if I have an emergency and have to go back down to south Florida, I can still be in class while not technically being in a classroom."
While the biggest upside to taking online classes is being able to learn no matter where you are, Dorlean also recognizes some of the downsides that these types of classes pose. There are plenty of online resources to help with an online assignment, but nothing can compare to the experience of interacting with a teacher.
