CRAWFORDVILLE, FL. (WTXL) - It's been one year since a Crawfordville man was found stabbed to death outside his home. A candlelight vigil was held in remembrance of the man family and friends called Jody.
Tuesday night was a night of celebration and remembrance, remembering a husband, a father, a brother, a son, a Papa and a friend. Over a 100 people showed up in support of a man family and friends say loved his family.
Gladys Kilgore Jody's mom says, "Jody was one of the finest men in Wakulla County. We're trying to get awareness out there to see if we could get someone to talk. Nobody is talking."
On October 6, 2014 Jody Kilgore was found dead. The 50 year old was found stabbed to death with his body lying at the end of his driveway on Spring Court. Wakulla County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and one year later, deputies are still looking for the killer.
Gretl Plessinger with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement says, "Agents and investigators are still following up on leads and we are seeing some leads come in. We hope to bring awareness to the case."
Jody was a person who loved the outdoors and loved working with his hands. They're hoping Tuesday nights vigil will spur the leads they need to find out Who Killed Jody Kilgore and Why?
Gladys says, she'll always miss her little boy, "I broke down last night and then cried a bit today. I got up this morning and looked on Facebook and all I saw was my Jody."
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Wakulla County Sheriff's Office and Big Bend Crime Stoppers are offering a $7,000 reward for information leading to the arrest.
