VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - Three Valdosta men are behind bars after a drive-by shooting Sunday evening.
According to Valdosta Police, around 7pm, two men were standing outside an apartment building on the 1300 block on Ponderosa Drive when someone in a car driving by began firing a gun in the direction of the men.
Police say that one of the men was shot in the torso and brought to South Georgia Medical Center, where he was treated and released with a non-life threatening wound.
Other bullets entered an apartment that was occupied by a woman and her two children, and police say that no one was injured inside.
Around the same time the shooting happened, Valdosta Police say that 911 dispatchers received a call about a car driving recklessly through the same area.
According to the incident report, after a short pursuit, the Lowndes County Sheriffs Office, along with the Georgia State Patrol, was able to help Valdosta Police track down the car.
Police say that evidence found in the car connected the driver and passengers to the shooting on Ponderosa Drive. Officers say that they discovered that the vehicle was also later reported to be stolen.
Valdosta Police arrested:
- Rashawn Mays, 35 year old Valdosta resident - charges pending are 5 counts of Aggravated Assault
- Demareay Doe, 22 year old Valdosta resident - charges pending are 5 counts of Aggravated Assault
- Raekwon Glover, 19 year old Valdosta resident - charges pending are 5 counts of Aggravated Assault, giving a false name, felony violation of probation
The incident report says that arrest warrants are pending and that all three were taken to the Lowndes County Jail.
