JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A 25-year-old mother is dead after a three car crash in Jackson County.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened on Thursday around 1:04 p.m.

They say that a car driven by 20-year-old Madison Chafin of Cottondale was traveling northbound on Pennsylvania Avenue while a car driven by 25-year-old Rachel Walls from Chipley was traveling in front of her.

FHP says Walls getting ready to turn left into the Marianna Fire Department station 2 parking lot, however, Chafin failed to slow down for Walls, causing her car to hit the back of Walls'.

The impact sent Walls' car into a spin before it was hit again by a third vehicle.

Walls was transported to a hospital for her injuries where she later died. The third driver, identified as John McCoy of Marianna, was also hospitalized for minor injures.

Troopers say charges are pending in the crash.

Chipley High School's JROTC says that Javier's Mexican Restaurant in Chipley will be donating profits to help the former cadet's family this Wednesday:

A GoFundMe page has also been created to help the family out with funeral arrangements.
