GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A traffic homicide investigation is underway after a Quincy woman was killed and a 12-year-old boy and woman were hospitalized after a head-on crash in Chattahoochee.
The Florida Highway Patrol says that the crash happened Tuesday around 12:19 p.m.
They say Lillie Proctor, 78, of Quincy was driving her 2006 Chrysler 300 south on C.R. 269 (Lincoln Drive) toward I-10 while a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo, driven by 59-year-old Jana Perry of Quincy, was going the opposite way.
Proctor was trying to follow a right-hand curve on the road when her car crossed the center line, crashing head-on into Perry's car. None of the victims had seat belts on at the time of the crash.
FHP says Proctor was pronounced dead on the scene.
The 12-year-old passenger in her car was hospitalized with minor injuries while Perry was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Troopers say charges may be filed pending a traffic homicide investigation.
GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting a fatal crash in Chattahoochee.
Troopers say they were called to the crash around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. They say it happened on Bonnie Hill Road and Flat Creek Road.
They are reporting a fatality in the crash though they have not yet identified the victim.
As of 3:09 p.m., troopers are reporting a roadblock and are asking drivers to use caution in the area.
