TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tuesday the "On the steps of History: Florida's Inaguarations" exhibit opens to the public.

This is a general public invite for visitors to take a look at special moments shared by the people of Florida, new first families, and cabinet.

Rachel Porter of the Florida Historic Capitol Museum spoke about the exhibit.

She said the gubernatorial inauguration is coming up in January, and this exhibit is going to tie in and give a little backgorund for the times of the inagurations past that people may not be aware of.

Since 1845, when Florida's first Chief Executive was officially sworn in as Governor, inaugural ceremonies have taken place outside the Capitol building in Tallahassee.
