MADISON CO., Fla. (WTXL) - An older couple loses their home to an afternoon fire. It happened about 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2015.
According to Madison Fire Rescue, they and Pinetta Fire/Rescue were called to a report of a house fire on Cherry Lake Circle in the northern part of Madison County.
According to a witness, the Division of Forestry provided their tanker for water support, Madison County EMS was on scene, and Tri-County Electric isolated the home from the power pole.
Crews worked to put out the fire, which they believe started on the front porch and extended to the rest of the house. Unfortunately, they say the home is a total loss.
Madison Fire Rescue tell ABC27, no one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
The State Fire Marshal's Office has been called in to help with the investigation. No word yet on the cause.
