TIFTON, Ga. (WTXL) - An old tobacco warehouse is serving a new purpose.
The Lofts at Twin Bricks is set to officially open next week.
Developer Harold Harper says he's always had an interest in taking old buildings and making them new again.
Harper says the building is nearly 100 years old.
Interior designer Meredith Rutland says she wanted to bring new elements while also saving some of its historic features like the original ceiling.
Rutland says the development adds to Tifton's thriving downtown.
"There's really no other loft area and with all of the downtown boom with all of the restaurants and moving to the vintage yet modern feel," Rutland said. "We wanted to do something that would partner hand in hand with that."
The Lofts at Twin Bricks will hold a grand opening on Friday, August 4, starting at 5 p.m.
You can get a look at the new lofts and refreshments will be served.
