AUSTINTOWN, OH (WOIO) - The man who tried to entice a 15-year-old boy with chicken Alfredo and Sprite in exchange for sex will serve a week in a Mahoning County jail cell.
Albert Maruna, a 22-year-old Youngstown State University student at the time of the incident, was arrested in Austintown during a sex sting in Dec. 2016.
The Orwell resident thought he was communicating with a teen boy through an online dating app, but it was actually an undercover officer.
Investigators say Maruna's conversations were sexually graphic and he sent nude photographs of himself.
Maruna arranged to meet the undercover officer in Austintown. At the time of his arrest, Maruna was carrying two bottles of Sprite, chicken Alfredo in a Tupperware container, a bottle of Astroglide lubrication and Vaseline.
Court records show that Maruna was found guilty of two counts of importuning and two counts of disseminating harmful or obscene material to a juvenile. He must register as a Tier One sex offender and will be on three years of community control after serving the seven days in jail.
