(RNN) – You won’t need a 30.06 to put meat on the table starting Oct. 21 when Arby’s releases venison sandwiches nationwide and elk sandwiches in three western states.
The venison sandwiched, tried in a limited release last year, will be available in all 3,300 stores across the nation, while the elk will be available in three restaurants in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.
The venison sandwiches were a sensation last year, selling out in a matter of minutes in the stories where they were available. They will be available again while supplies last and are likely to sell out quickly, the company said.
Chief Marketing Manager Jim Taylor recommended that anybody who wants to guarantee that they get one of the sandwiches should probably be waiting in line before the doors open – that’s what they did last year.
The venison comes from a supplier in New Zealand that sells grass-fed, free-range venison, USA Today reports. The sandwich will be thick cut venison steak, topped with crispy onions and a berry sauce.
The elk sandwich, sold in states where elk hunting is big, will be similar, topped with a blackberry port wine sauce.
