THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - The massive Colquitt County meth distribution ring that started back in 2014 has expanded into almost all of Southwest Georgia and parts of Florida.
Law enforcement has arrested over 40 people linked to this meth operation.
You may remember the ringleader, Boris Fuller, was arrested in 2017 after authorities said he brought methamphetamine from the Atlanta area and distributed it in Colquitt and surrounding counties.
With so many areas affected by this meth ring, the Moultrie-Colquitt County Drug Enforcement Team, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Narcotics Unit, the Thomas County Narcotics Division and others have teamed up to fight these criminals.
"We know a lot of our drug activity crosses county lines, state lines continuously. So, it's good to have these partnerships with other people, these good working relationships," said Thomas County Narcotics Division Commander Louis Schofill
The Thomas County Narcotics Division was able to assist in the investigations, surveillance and arrests. Some of which, came from Thomasville.
"A lot of the methamphetamine that we were seizing and making arrests on happened here, in Thomas County, was coming directly from that organization," said Schofill.
Schofill also said that every day they aren't making arrests someone is out there getting more drugs.
"We have to stay diligent and keep the pressure on and keep making these arrests. It's not going to just go away because Boris Fuller was arrested," said Schofill.
With each meth arrest, law enforcement is learning more about the hierarchy in this meth ring.
Schofill hopes with the information they continue to receive they'll be able to get rid of this meth distribution.
