Officials Select Interviewees for Vacant Florida Supreme Court Seat

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - After a judge on the Florida Supreme Court resigned in September, officials have released the list of applicants that they have chosen to interview.

Justice James E.C. Perry announced his resignation from the Florida Supreme Court on Sept. 12, clearing out an open spot for Governor Rick Scott's first chance to change the structure of the state judicial make up. 

The Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) for the Florida Supreme Court said that they will interview the following people for Justice Perry's spot:

- Wendy W. Berger

- Alice L. Blackwell

- Roberta J. Bodnar

- Daniel J. Gerber

- Sylvia A. Grunor

- Bradley E. King

- C. Alan Lawson

- Larry E. Metz

- Michelle T. Morley

- Michael J. Rudisill

-Patricia L. Strowbridge

Officials said that interviews will be conducted on Nov. 28, 2016, at the offices of GrayRobinson, P.A. in Orlando.

The JNC also said that it welcomes comments on any of the candidates' qualifications and have directed people to do so by email to Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission Chair Jason L. Unger at jason.unger@gray-robinson.com.
