LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - The Lakeland Police Department and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office say a man pretending to be a law enforcement officer is targeting Hispanic men in robberies in Polk and Hillsborough counties.
The Ledger of Lakeland (http://bit.ly/1Avosi1 ) reports a series of robberies in Haines City may be tied to incidents in Lakeland on Sunday and Seffner on Monday. Hillsborough Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter says authorities believe it's the same person due to similar descriptions of the man and vehicle.
Haines City police say the suspect is thought to be Hispanic. Authorities say the man is driving a blue four-door Chevrolet Envoy.
