LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Today is the 18th annual World Heart Day and Leon County is giving a few tips to make sure your heart remains healthy.
The Leon County Health Department says cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death nationwide.
Each year, one in four Americans and one in three Floridians die from cardiovascular disease.
They say this year's theme is 'Share the Power', which emphasizes that the key to a healthy heart is to quote, "know your heart, fuel your heart, move your heart and love your heart."
To keep your heart in shape, the Florida Department of Health recommends you eat healthy, exercise regularly, and maintain a healthy weight.
