TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee's Downtown Getdown draws hundreds to the heart of the Capital City, and Monday, the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority discussed new ideas for the Getdown at a workshop.

City officials say the Getdown has been a great event for the city each year, but as the city continues to grow, the event should also change while remaining a great event for local residents and businesses.

They say no decisions were made and they can't discuss the ideas presented at the meeting, but they are excited to make some changes.

"We realized that times are changing, and the community is evolving. We have some exciting new things with Cascades Park, Kleman Plaza, and there's also some pre-football events down at CollegeTown and also at Bannerman," said Claudia Davant, the vice chair of the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority. "We want to make sure that we continue keep to make downtown a Getdown destination."

Officials are asking anyone with ideas for the Downtown Getdown to contact Claudia Davant at claudia@adamsstadvocates.com or CEO Paige Carter-Smith at paige.tallahasseedowntown@gmail.com.
