TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Tallahassee has many construction projects underway but not enough workers to help complete them.

Not only is this a problem for the city, but there is a need for more construction workers across the country.

According to a survey from the Associated General Contractor of America, Sage Construction and Real Estate, nearly 78 percent of construction firms say they are having a hard time filing positions.

One City leader expresses as this city grows, its critical time for people to apply for construction jobs locally.

"Fortunately here in Tallahassee, we are seeing a lot of growth and new development and re-development. All of that brings the opportunity for jobs," said Jay Revell, Vice President of Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. "So we have to have the people that have the necessary skill sets to go in and build these things and work for some of our great companies to get the job done. So, its absolutely a critical time to make sure we have the proper work force in Tallahassee to build out future."
