Offices closed in Leon County for Labor Day

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- All Leon County offices, libraries, and community centers, with the exception of Parks and Recreation facilities, will be closed on Monday, September 2, in observance of Labor Day.

The Leon County Main Library (downtown) will re-open on Tuesday, September 3, at 10 a.m., and library branches will re-open at 11 a.m.

Solid Waste Management offices and facilities will be closed September 2. The Rural Waste Service Centers are normally closed on Mondays and will not be affected by the holiday. Marpan Recycling will be closed. Waste Management, Inc., will also be closed. Residential waste collection routes will be delayed one day during the week of Labor Day. Leon County Animal Control will also be closed September 2; however, in the event of an emergency, service is available by calling the Leon County Sheriff's Office at (850) 922-3300. Leon County Animal Control encourages residents to only use this service in cases of dangerous or aggressive dogs, sick or injured domestic animals, animal cruelty or animal bites. Injured wildlife calls will be forwarded to the St. Francis Wildlife Association at (850) 627-4151.
