VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)--It's an unforgettable wedding proposal in Valdosta.
Homerville Police Corporal San King made a plan with some of his fellow officers to ask his girlfriend of five years to marry him at a road check.
King was told to get out of his truck for an expired license at a road check in Valdosta Friday night.
A Lowndes County deputy pretends to handcuff him. King's girlfriend Paige Wilson is also told to get out of the truck. She has no idea what's about to happen, as King gets down on one knee and pops the question.
"She thought I was going to jail," said Cpl. King. "I was so nervous. My heart was beating out so fast."
"I never expected to get proposed to at a road block," said Wilson.
Law enforcers were cheering after she said "yes."
