Off Duty Moody AFB Airman Found Unresponsive In Hotel Room

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. (WTXL) -- An airman stationed at the Moody Air Force base died in Charleston, South Carolina. 

According to officials, Senior Airman Sebastian Jenkins was found unresponsive in his Charleston hotel room Friday morning. Air Force officials say Jenkins was off duty at the time of the incident.

Local authorities in Charleston are investigating the death. However, details as to how Jenkins died has yet to be released.

Jenkins was an 822nd Base Defense Squadron Fire Team Member. His commander, Major Julia Jefferson, says, "This is a very sad time for the 822nd Base Defense Squadron as we mourn this loss of a team member."

More details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.
