JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — One of the formerly conjoined twin boys born in Jacksonville in December 2014 is now at home.

The Florida Times-Union reports (http://bit.ly/1V9YPbO) Conner Mirabal was released from Wolfson Children's Hospital on Wednesday.

His brother, Carter Mirabal, has had a slower recovery and remains hospitalized. Their mother, Michelle Brantley, says both boys are doing fine.

Both boys were born conjoined from the sternum to the lower abdomen by tissue on Dec. 12, 2014. Shortly after their birth, they were transported to Wolfson for the first of multiple surgeries, including the final separation May 7.

Conner Mirabal was discharged from Wolfson Children's Hospital in late November and transferred to Brooks Rehabilitation, where he received inpatient physical therapy. He returned to Wolfson in December for pediatric medical care, including a surgical procedure.
