LANSDOWNE, Md. (AP) — Two boys who fell into an icy pond in Baltimore County have been released from the hospital.
Two others have been upgraded to serious condition.
County police say the boys, ages 8 to 13, fell through ice into a pond Sunday afternoon. Bystanders pulled a 12-year-old boy from the water, and two other boys made it to the shore on their own.
Police say the fourth boy, 13-year-old Kyron Aikens, was in cardiac arrest when a county rescue team pulled him from the pond. He and the boy saved by bystanders, 12-year-old Omar Benjamin, were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. They were listed Monday in serious condition.
Police say the other two boys, ages 8 and 12, were treated and released.
