TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL)-- Local girls are trying out their Entrepreneurial skills in the name of fitness. All apart of the Girls of Oasis' "Girls can do Anything" Camp.
As a part of Girls Mean Business Week, the girls of Oasis' summer camp ages six to 12 were able to visit local businesses to learn real world professional skills. After deciding on a health and fitness concept, the girls were able to learn about spending, saving, and giving.
The girls ended up coming up with a pop-up shop embodying all aspects of fitness, offering Yoga and Zumba classes, as well as offering fresh fruit smoothies.
And the girls didn't stop their, based on the values of their business focused on fitness and health the girls decided to give to a non-profit organization deciding on the Leon County Chapter for the Special Olympics. What's left of the proceeds is to be given to the girls for them to practice saving in real life.
Camp organizers with Oasis hope the program equips the girls with skills to take on any challenge.
