LAKE CITY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The Florida Attorney General's office is investigating a Lake City clinic for possible Medicaid fraud.

Finding there was enough "probable cause to believe that felony Medicaid fraud was being committed at the premises", a judge approved a 5 page search warrant that was executed September 23 at the office of Emory Medical Corporation, d/b/a Women's Center of Florida, located at 351 NE Franklin Street in Lake City.

Investigators with the Attorney General's office, with the help of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, seized an array of documents including patient records, tax records, receipts, medical supply invoices, computer software and hardware and appointment forms.

According to the search warrant, investigators were also searching for "...the complete medical files of those Medicaid recipients that underwent breast biopsies, Cesarean child birth deliveries, and Hysterectomies performed by D. Chandler Vimal Mohan or Dr. Emal Ismael Atta over the period of September 1, 2010 through the present..."

WTXL called the doctor's office Tuesday morning, but a reception said any comment would have to come from the doctors who were unavailable.

Details of the investigation have yet to be released by investigators.
