TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Two Tallahassee women and a Gadsden County county woman are arrested on charges of $13,000 of medicaid fraud.
The Florida Attorney General's office released the information Monday, saying the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office, Tallahassee Police Department, and the Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit made the arrests.
According to the investigation 39-year-old Melissa L. Simmons, 37-year-old Felicia S. Williams, and 64-year-old Willie-Mae Williams are accused of filing the fraudulent claims when they billed medicaid services for Simmons never provided to a developmentally disabled child.
Simmons could face 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $80,000 and restitution. The other two women could spend 5 years in prison with a fine of $70,000.
The Second Circuit State Attorney's Office will prosecute this case.
