TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--The sheriff's office is searching for the deputy of the year and correctional officer of the year.
You can nominate a deputy or correctional officer for a service that stands out during the period of September 1, 2016 through September 1, 2017.
Some of the categories of service for recognition include:
-heroic life-saving event
-distinguished above and beyond service
-community involvement
-exemplary level of professionalism
September 31 is the deadline to submit a nomination. The award presentation will be made at the graduation banquet of the Citizens Academy on October 10.
