JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A 'No Swim Advisory' has been lifted in Jackson County.

The advisory was put in place after a damaged sewage pipe leaked untreated wastewater near Highway 90 in Jackson County. Initial water samples tested positive for fecal bacteria.

According to the Florida Department of Health in Jackson County, new water samples show it's okay for people to swim again at Spring Creek and the Chipola River.

Health officials in Jackson County say they will continue testing the water, letting dilution help take care of the issue.

If you swam in the area earlier this week, you should see a doctor if you begin having gastrointestinal issues, like a stomachache, nausea, or diarrhea.
