LAKE CITY, Fla. (WTXL)--A Lake City father will not be facing any charges after his child died in a hot car in May.

The state attorney's office in Gainesville says there were no aggravating circumstances that led to the child's death, and the tragedy happened because of a loss of concentration on the father's part.

He told deputies he was supposed to drop the baby off at daycare but forgot because he normally does not do it.

Court records show the father parked in a garage at work and returned home at his normal time. He only realized the child was in the car when his wife asked why the child was not at daycare.
