TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A new Target near Florida State University is now open to the public.
Wednesday was the store's soft opening, according to Jacqueline DeBuse, a Target spokesperson.
This Target is not like your normal Target. It is about 1/4 the size and suited for the area.
The store is geared towards the community around it, which tends to be students. The store leader says while it is a smaller Target it has everything the surrounding community needs.
"When we decide on where to put them we really listen to the guests, we really look at the demographic that we will be serving, and we listen to the local government as far as what they are looking for in this area," said Derrek Williamson, the store team leader. "Then we tailor our assortment specifically based on that feedback."
The first 1,000 guests attending the store's grand opening at 8 a.m. Sunday will receive complimentary reusable bags. The store is located at 1861 W. Tennessee St.
