TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - There's a new mural in downtown Tallahassee that really captures the spirit of the city.

The mural, which reads "#iHeartTally," was painted in two days. If the slogan sounds familiar, it's because "Visit Tallahassee" uses it to promote tourism to the area.

This mural is described as fun and playful, which is what Tallahassee is. As for the artist, Cosby Hayes, he's a part of a group called "Knight Creative communities institute," or "KCCI."

Each year, KCCI has a project they work on. This year, they teamed up with the "Leon County Department of Tourism and Development," better known as "Visit Tallahassee." This partnership is all in an effort to promote Visit Tallahassee's campaign, "#ihearttally," all while utilizing underused spaces around the city.

As for the location of the mural, it was Commissioner Gil Ziffer who suggested the space over the Kleman Plaza parking garage entrance.

Visitors and residents of the city agree that it captures the city's spirit well.

WTXL has been told that KCCI has a few more projects up their sleeves, but cannot give out any details about them.

What we can say is that an upcoming project will involve the pedestrian bridge at cascades park. Until then, come out to Kleman Plaza and check out this new, vibrant, and fun mural.
