TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Harnessing the power of the sun: that's what officials at the Tallahassee International Airport are looking to do with a new solar project.
David Byrne, Director of Energy Services for the City of Tallahassee, spoke about it at an informational event at the airport Sunday.
The solar farm will occupy about 370 acres south of the airport, and Byrne says this major sustainability project will better introduce solar energy production into the area.
Airport officials say the solar farm will be built in stages. The project is expected to start this May.
