TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Seniors in our area will have a new option to consider when looking for a place to live.
A retirement community is being built in Tallahassee's northeast section.
Development in the Capital City never seems to stop. Last year, WTXL told you about a "retirement center" project on Lonnbladh Road and Hermitage Boulevard. Now, Mulligan Park is well on its way to completion.
Unlike most options in the area, this will be a fully independent living community catered for senior citizens.
The owners of this retirement community have built and managed 400 of these nationwide and here in the Big Bend, they want to provide new resources for a growing senior population.
Spokeswoman Susan Maas says Mulligan Park is already getting lots of interest, with more seniors moving to the big bend.
Mulligan Park is slated to be completed in July and hopes to move in residents in August.
