TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Floridians are getting rid of their traditional telephone services in favor of wireless phones, according to a new report released by the Florida Public Service Commission.
The report, which was released on Friday, says that in the past decade, residential wire-lines have dropped by close to 6 million.
This means there is almost one wireless device for every resident in the state, around 19 million subscribers, according to the report.
Floridians seem to be keeping up with the national trend, and the Florida Public Service Commission says, "There is no reason to believe the substitution rate will be changing appreciably."
