A new study conducted by AAA found 75% of people polled are afraid of the idea of riding in a self-driving car, and a whopping 90% said they would not feel safe sharing the road with them.

Despite the negativity toward the self-driving cars, AAA's survey also found 59% of drivers are on-board with the idea of systems to assist drivers, such as self-parking, lane following, and even auto pilot.

Automakers like Tesla already employ self-driving technology, while other vehicles - like the new 2017 Mercedes E-Class - are electronically programmed for driverless technology.
