New Marketing Campaign Launched to Bring Businesses to State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida is launching a $10 million marketing campaign to lure new businesses to the state.

Enterprise Florida, the state's economic development arm, unveiled the new campaign at its board meeting on Friday.

The initial launch includes an introductory video and a new website that includes the slogan: Florida: The Future is Here. Enterprise Florida plans to do radio, print and eventually television ads in the next few weeks. The ads will run both in Florida and in other locations.

State legislators last year gave Enterprise Florida money for the new campaign.

A previous marketing effort launched in 2013 came under fire. That campaign included a logo that featured an orange necktie. Some contended the logo was sexist and was directed at male business leaders.
