Madeline Pumariega will take over the role before colleges start their fall terms. She's served as the president and CEO of Take Stock in Children, a Florida nonprofit that helps at-risk youth escape poverty through education. Pumariega was also president of Miami Dade College's Wolfson campus.

"I strongly believe that a quality education is the single most important factor to lifelong success, and I am both honored and excited to serve as the Florida College System Chancellor.”
