TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- The Florida College System, which serves 28 colleges in the state including Tallahassee Community College and North Florida Community College, has a new chancellor.
Madeline Pumariega will take over the role before colleges start their fall terms. She's served as the president and CEO of Take Stock in Children, a Florida nonprofit that helps at-risk youth escape poverty through education. Pumariega was also president of Miami Dade College's Wolfson campus.
“Helping Florida’s students achieve their education goals is one of my life’s greatest passions," she said in a statement. "I strongly believe that a quality education is the single most important factor to lifelong success, and I am both honored and excited to serve as the Florida College System Chancellor.”
