TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A new exhibit opened its doors Thursday at Florida's Historic Capitol Museum.
The exhibit will let you take a closer look behind the walls of the history of Florida's Capitol.
This year is the 40th anniversary of when the Florida Capitol was saved from demolition.
At the exhibit you can discover different artifacts that lived in the capitol building dating back to 1845.
"It's imperative to preserve our history and protect it, because this is part of what has brought us here. It's our heritage," said Rachel Porter, Director of Programming and Research. "We must look back, acknowledge our past, know about it, and use that to move forward."
Parents, there is a play area outside the exhibit for your little ones. The exhibit opened at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and is open until October 14.
