TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - There's a new place in town to get your coffee fix.

Tally Cat Cafe opened it's doors at noon Monday and caters to both coffee and cat lovers. The goal is to increase feline pet adoptions in Leon County.

Tally Cat partnered with the Leon County Humane Society to provide the cats and Lucky Goat to provide the coffee.

The owners, three friends, hope to find the cats forever homes.

All cats go through a strict vetting process before they can be put up for adoption.

"We love coffee and we love cats and we really admired other cat cafe's like Orlando Cat Cafe, Java Cat Cafe, and Pounce Cat Cafe for their work in increasing adoption rates at local resources," said Katie Logue. "So we set out to accomplish the same thing."

The cat cafe is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sessions with cats can be booked in advance or you can just walk in to enjoy.

Tally Cat is the second cat-cafe to open in Tallahassee. Fat Cat Cafe was the first to open in the area last summer.
