You can call this a perfect shopping partner.

It's called "Gita", a robot designed to carry your groceries and other things from a store.

It can haul about 40-pounds, as it links to a device on your belt. But, Gita should also be able to go on its own and pick up your merchandise while you stay in the house.

The robot was developed by a Boston start-up company run by the Italian company that makes Vespa scooters.

It is expected to go into production next year.
