MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - The city of Midway is answering those calls from citizens with new businesses coming into town and plans for upgrades in the works.

There will be a planning and zoning meeting Monday night to discuss the latest new business making its way to Midway.

That business is called Standard Precast and it'll go on Business Park Road. Standard Precast comes from Duval and does precast molding for items like ceramics.

With a new business means new job opportunities, and City Manager Leslie Steele says another new business is bringing in even more jobs.

"What we're saying is Midway is open for business. Our permitting process has been streamlined. It doesn't take weeks and months any longer to get permits if you're a business," said Steele. "You come right in, you have a meeting with us. Everything that is needed is required to get you going in opening and constructing new businesses to give the citizens of Midway the opportunity to seek and get new employment.

Trulieve will bring in 200 new jobs. In a few months, it'll open up in Industrial Park.

Trulieve will be the packaging plant for a medical marijuana farm out of Quincy.
