TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-- North Florida Representative Gwen Graham is co-sponsoring a bill to require the Federal Government to only purchase and use American flags made in America.
Graham says there is no better time than the Fourth of July to honor out Founding Fathers.
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Census data, in 2013 the dollar value of U.S. imports of American flags was $4 million dollars, $3.9 million of which came from China.
Current law only requires the Federal Government to purchase flags made of 50 percent American-made materials.
