TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Matisse, Picasso, and Warhol, those are just some of the legendary artists whose work will be featured in a new, upcoming art exhibit at Tallahassee Community College.

500 Years of Printing, the Florida State University Collection at TCC opens at the Fine Art Gallery next month.

It is an exhibit of fine art prints by outstanding artists, spanning the last five centuries.

They were printed by hand in a limited number by the artist or by a printer, supervised by the artist.

The prints are then numbered and recorded along with the artist's signature.

Barbara Cohenour, the gallery curator, says this is an important and historic exhibit for Tallahassee.

"In the last 500 years, artists have chosen to make prints in lui of painting or creating sculpture," said Cohenour. "So you have the whole realm of the last 500 years in this gallery in Tallahassee at the same time."

The exhibition will be on display from October 11 to December 13 at the TCC Fine Art Gallery.

Free guided tours can be scheduled in advance.
